The 2021 G. C. E. Advanced Level examination commenced on Monday (7) and will continue until the 5th of March.
A total of 345,242 candidates are sitting for the examination across 2,438 examination centers.
279,141 candidates are school students and 66,101 are private candidates.
At the same time, 29 dedicated examination centers have been set at district level for candidates who tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the Department of Examinations, candidates who are in quarantine are expected to report to the respective examination centers with their admission card and inform the head invigilator of their quarantine status.
Thereafter, the candidate will be directed to a separate examination center at the premises to sit for the examination in accordance with the health guidelines.
