Over 190 Major coal users including Vietnam, Chile and Poland have made pledges to shift away from fossil fuel at COP26 climate summit. However, the world’s biggest coal dependent countries such as Australia, India, China and the US did not sign up to this pledge. UK business and energy secretary Kwasi Kwarteng mentioned that “the end of coal is in sight”. He added that, “The world is moving in the right direction, standing ready to seal coal’s fate and embrace the environmental and economic benefits of building a future that is powered by clean energy.”
