US President Joe Biden attacked both China and Russia for not turning up at the COP26 climate summit. In the summit held in Glasgow, neither Russian President Vladimir Putin nor Chinese leader Xi Jinping were present. In a speech US president Joe Biden, stated that it was “a gigantic mistake” for China to have “walked away”, and he added that it was the “same thing with Russia and Putin”. However, both the countries sent delegations to represent them in the talks which are to go on until the 14th of November. Over 120 leaders were present at the summit which was held at Scotland’s largest city. Dmitry Peskov, being Mr. Putin’s spokesperson did not mention as to the reasoning of his absence at the summit. It is thought that President Xi has not left China since early 2020. China is world’s largest emitter of Carbon Dioxide, with the US taking second place. Russia is the fifth largest after India and EU.
