The leader of the Bodu Bala Sena Rajakeeya Panditha Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero, speaking at a media briefing today alleged that less than 24 hours after the court order was issued prohibiting the celebration of Maha Viru celebration, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP MA Sumanthiran visited the home of Captain Pandithar, who was born in 1954 and died in 1985 and uploaded pictures of same on his official Facebook account.
Gnanasara thero points out that by this conduct MP Sumanthiran has commemorated Mahaviru celebration and it amounts to breach of court order.
“Therefore, we immediately request the government to enforce the law on Sumanthiran”, he said.
He went on to say that as MP Sumanthiran is under oath both as a lawyer and as a Member of Parliament not to engage in separatist or terrorist activities and that his example would mislead the youth of the country. He said the government must take immediate action to arrest MP Sumanthiran.
He added, “We especially urge our fellow Tamil Hindu brothers not to fall prey Sumanthirans’ death trap, because the Tamil society collapsed due to this miserable war. At a time when we are building a very good relationship with them, opportunistic politicians like Sumanthiran are giving a boost to the dark shadows that are still hoping to take up arms. Therefore, the law must be enforced immediately.”
