Buddhist pressure group Bodu Bala Sena’s leader Ven.Gnanasara thero is nominated to be appointed to the Sri Lankan Parliament through Ape Jana Bala Pakshaya Party and it is reported that a conflict has arisen to the said appointment due to an arbitrary conduct of the party secretery.
Ven.Gnanasara thero’s parliament appointment issue is at the hands of election commission and today it was reported that a group of Traditional Muslims gathered infront of Election commission demanding for thero’s appointment to the parliament.
Ven.Gnanasara thero has acted for the safeguard of traditional muslims who are under threats of extremist wahabism followers.
However it is reported that the majority Sri Lankans expect Ven.Gnanasara thero to be appointed to the parliament. Thero has gained national and international attention as a leading buddhist monk who raised voice against islamic wahabism extrimists and as a thero who act for and behalf of protection of endangered Sri Lankan archeological sites.
